Progress at last!

August 17th, 2007

With the car now back at the home of PB Performance, the frustrations of the last few months are now finally beginning to subside! Being let down at the last minute prior to the last two race meetings were really beginning to try my patients and question my commitment to this great sport.

With all of the aforementioned now in the past, the team and myself can now focus on what is left of the season and devise a plan of attack. The plan involves entering the following events:

  • September 15th  - Castle Combe FF1600 championship final round.
  • October 7th – Castle Combe Formula Ford Carnival.

It is also hoped that the team will be in action for the Walter Hayes Trophy race weekend in November, held at the world famous Silverstone circuit. The team’s participation in this prestigious and highly regarded event depends very much upon funds and results gained at the last remaining Castle Combe meetings.

More updates very shortly…

More problems lead to racing rethink!

August 7th, 2007

It’s 9.00pm on Friday 3rd August, I have just got out of the shower after spending the evening setting up at Castle Combe circuit in preperation for Saturday’s race when I recieve a phone call from XRT Race Engineering. I feard the worst and unfortunately my fears were confounded when I was told that once again the car would not be ready and yet another meeting was about to slip by!!!

It was a sickening blow and one that has led to me having to rethink my plans for whats left of the season. Having planned this to be both mine and the team’s learning year, gaining experience and hopefully speed as it progressed it is has now become very apparant that due to these continuing delays, the season for the PB Performance team is sadly pretty much over!

When the car finally does arrive back I plan to undertake a couple of test sessions to get back into the swing of things before deciding on which races to enter prior to the traditional season closing events of the Castle Combe Carnival and Walter Hayes Trophy (held at Silverstone). Events that the team deperately hope to be running and competitive in!

More updates once the plans for the remainder of the year have been confirmed.
