My CV

February 14th, 2007

My life of motorsport:

1996-2000: I competed in an indoor junior kart racing championship in Bristol.

  • Numerous wins.
  • Numerous fastest laps.
  • Consistently a front runner.

1999 - 2002: I was a member of the “BP Under 17 Car Club”. Whilst in the club I took part in numerous different types of car related activities and competitions, brief details and highlights of these are listed below.

  • Learned to drive a road car at the age of 14 under controlled conditions.
  • Took part in “auto-tests”.
  • Skid pan training.
  • Single seater driving experience.
  • Rally driving.
  • Under 17 Car Club Honda Pilot champion 2000.
  • 3rd place in Under 17 Car Club karting competition 2000.
  • High speed track driving tuition.

2002 - 2006: I gained my “National B” racing licence in te summer of 2002, a few months prior to gaining my road driving licence! During these years I have taken part in many different types of motorsport activities, here are few of the details.

  • First trackday, April 2003. Driving a Lotus Elise Sport 190, Subaru Impreza WRX and Ferrari 355 at Donnington Park.
  • Numerous podiums and wins in karting grand prix’s.
  • Test in Formula Vauxhall Junior at Silverstone, summer 2003.
  • One-off race in Swift SC93 with Sema Racing in the Castle Combe Formula Ford Championship, September 2003.
  • During 2005 and 2006 i built up a Seat Ibiza Cupra for trackdays and used it for a few trackdays at Castle Combe before deciding that it was all great fun but I was missing something…
  • Competed in the “2006 Double Six Renault Clio Scholarship”.

COMPETITION

2007: In October 2006 I purchased the Van Diemen RF87 that I will be racing in this year’s “Castle Combe Formula Ford 1600 Championship”. When I purchased the car it was in reasonable condition. I decided that it would be a nice little winter project to strip it and turn it into a nice, smart car for me to compete in. What started as “a nice little project” sooned turned into a bit more than that as I kept finding thnigs that I felt could be improved upon or smartened up! The car will be run and developed during 2007 by a team consisting of myself, my Dad and friends aka PB Performance.

The aim is to achieve a “Pre 90″ class win by the end of the season!
